AI Fundamentals for unions

In this engaging and interactive workshop, you will be equipped with the knowledge and tools to understand what AI is; what it can do (and not do); the opportunity and impact for your union; how it is relevant to unions and considerations for ethical and responsible AI. 

You’ll also be guided through instructional and hands-on exercises to learn how to use and get results from basic AI tools including ChatGPT.

Kaz McGrath, Plai Founder & CEO

Kaz stands at the forefront of nonprofit impact and AI, wielding a unique blend of expertise in strategy, design, fundraising, organisational psychology, and digital technology. 

She is passionate about supporting purpose driven people and teams to unlock the value of AI ethically and responsibly and has worked with all kinds of organisations including UNICEF, ActionAid, WWF, MSF, Google, Tesla and Bain & Company. 

Kaz is an experienced facilitator, learning design and consultant having led teams around the world to transform how they work using innovative strategies, approaches and technology. 

Nick Scott, Senior Associate Digital transformation and AI, Unions 21

Nick has always been a digital pioneer with over two decades of experience in the nonprofit sector, and is a leading consultant in Artificial Intelligence (AI), especially in generative AI. 

His expertise, combining digital innovation and nonprofit strategies, has greatly impacted organisations like Oxfam, Greenpeace, and the International Science Council. Nick's journey includes a transformative tenure as Head of Digital at MSF Spain and a key role in UNISON's digital team, leading to recognition in the UK's Digital Leaders 100 list. 

Nick has a unique ability to help organisations navigate the complex and sometimes overwhelming or scary world of AI in simple, engaging and strategic ways, guiding them through a clear journey to build their understanding of AI and how to unlock its value responsibly.
